PRINCIPLES

COMMUNITY

“E Pluribus Unum.”

From many, one. These words are printed on our dollar bills for a reason. Our great American story is one of coming together despite our differences to make a better life for ourselves and for the next generation. Now is not the time for divisiveness. Now is the time for us to come together across racial, religious, and political divides to create a safe and prosperous community where we can all flourish together.

COMPASSION

“What the world news now is love, sweet love.”

That song may have been written in the 1960s, but it is more true now than ever. I believe our schools are the best in the country because of the compassion of our teachers. That was certainly my experience growing up and attending public schools in Massachusetts. I know veterans with PTSD, and mental illness has taken a toll on my own family. Compassion must be at the center of our politics and policies as we solve problems and create opportunities for all to succeed and prosper.

COMMON SENSE

“Common sense is not so common.”

We hire our politicians to solve problems, not to create or exacerbate them.  I believe the solutions to the issues of our day do not exist on the far left or on the far right.  Rather, we should confront today’s challenges with a heavy dose of common sense.  From affordability to accountability, from economic growth to environmental protection to immigration reform, we need solutions that work.   I will fight for Massachusetts in Washington, and working together, we can make Massachusetts the best place in the world to live, work, and raise a family.
